Thanks for mentioning Book Aid International - I had not heard of them before. Too bad that BAI appears to be based in the UK only. 

The UNICEF gift you received sounds great (I can&#039;t help but imagine a photo of all the pencils would be cool to see on a blog or on flickr!). It sounds like you had a very positive Christmas.</description>

And in more literacy related gifts, this year my mum&#039;s Christmas present from me was 625 pencils and four story books from UNICEF. Her academic career has always been focused on women and education, both formal and iinformal, so I will pass this on to her as well.</description>
